Oracle Help us Help foundation has grants from ThinkNICs. Though they make
it look like they are giving out computers in their literature.

They just granted us 30, and I am awaiting their arrival.

Check out www.helpushelp.org for more info.

We feel like they were dishonest with us, but I am excited to get the
terminals. They never give out the specs until after the grant is awarded.
Luckily I run Linux and was familiar with k12ltsp through OpenSourceSchools,
so we are going to be able to make use of them, but I have a bad taste about
Oracle after this process.

I am sure many people on this list would be interested in the terminals.

We just found out they are delivering terminals and not computers, so I am
sorry if I sound harsh. I am really looking forward to having two 15
computer labs via k12ltsp.

Hi,

I know there are folks out there using the ThinkNIC from the New Internet
Computer Company.......I was wondering how many folks are using them and
what was involved in getting them to boot to the K12LTSP. They look like
a viable alternative for terminals that I can install in the fall.....and
the price is about right. I'd appreciate any feedback. I'd also
appreciate any feedback on other machines (new...not used) that people are
using for terminals. (I know all about the used ones) :-)
