[K12OSN] why 2 netcards on the LTS?

Its the first week working with Linux. I find it a fantastic system. My main
task this year is to help about 40 schools in DK to implemenet LTS at the
school. Some of the schools has up to 160 clients.

My question is:
I do not understand the reason for 2 netcards in the server.
"one for a private network on a hub with terminals" and one for the "rest of
the network"
Does it mean that the thin klient will work on both cards. Is it only a
security reason that there are 2 netcard. Is it then possible to conect all
the teacher to one netcard and the stundet to the other, so the teachers can
comunicate and get into the schoools net and prevent the stundets from going
in to the "private net" (the schools administrative net). Will someone give
me a simple explination on this in a simple language.

I have already set up a LTS working with 10 clinets as a test and it works
fine, but now i would like to try the K12LTSP version.

Thank to a fantastic project and support
