I might also be able to help out on this. I don't have my 7.2 box setup for
winbind pam login, but I do have samba working with it. This is optional
through your PAM setup and I decided that for security and not really
needing it I would opt out on that. It took me awhile also to realize that
(since I installed SAMBA from a tar.gz) that it was firewalled in. If I see
any post you shoot up that I can help further with, I will.

Samba is doing a great job hear. It has some interesting quirks that are
different from NT, but were working it out. Mostly training on the admin
end.

Subject: [K12OSN] RH 7.3 Winbind Config

I'm using the stock k12ltsp CD to set up the RH7.3 Samba server this working
fine. I am trying to get the winbind working. The goal is to have the user
on the NT domain to log in the RH7.3 server without creating the local
account in the RH7.3 box. So far I can only
authenticated using the plain text password for the NT domain account. The
NT challenge response fail from the terminal console. I was not able to log
in to the RH7.3 box using any NT domain account yet.

If anyone had this working please post the configuration. I really
appreciated.

Thanks

MichaelT
