[K12OSN] Pointers to troubleshooting

OK, I've brought home the server and two lab machines so that I can try 
to make a network work. I have *never* managed to get a client to boot 
from its boot floppy successfully. I have updated to XFree86 4.2.0, but 
after apparently trying several different video settings itself, the 
boot process hangs (as mentioned in a previous message).

Some people have suggested I have a configuration problem.

Others have suggested it would be better to downgrade to XFree86 3.3.6.

Are there websites anywhere that would explain how to do either of 
these?
