Cool. Thanks for the reminder. IIRC, the pam_smb_auth module requires
that each user have a local account (though not necessarily a valid
passord.) This seems to get around that limitation.
I'd peruse the smaba mailing list for installation tips; ISTR that there
was a lot of confusion over winbindd when it came out. I played with it
briefly but abandoned it since it was in beta at the time.
