[K12OSN] Open Office problem...... appears to be related to permissions

Hi Eric and folks,

I've found part of the cause of the Open Office problem.

It appears to be related to permissions.

I have set permissions on most of the folders in / to 751. 
This effectively locks unwanted users out of the folders, but allows them to execute files in the folders.

When the permissions are set back to 755 on /home, the problem disappears.

An alternative fix is to be a member of group root.
