Wide Area Network.
I cannot discourage the LTSP over ADSL proposal strongly enough. It is
a security disaster waiting to happen. First, you'd have to serve NFS
over the internet. NFS should NEVER be made available over the internet
(or any untrusted environment).
Second, it would be so dismally slow that it could not help but to make
a negative impression. The only conclusion one could draw from using
LTSP over a WAN would be "this thing sucks!"
