[K12OSN] Simple RPM question

I am currently trying to accomplish a much needed update of my RPMs. I started
by d/ling updated RPMs from RHN and would just use the Gnome file manager and
double click on RPMs once I d/led them to my linux box. However, it was giving
me dependency errors.

For example, I have netscape-common-4.75-2 and d/led 4.77 and when I double-
clicked the RPM, it told me it had a dependency on 4.76....Should I have
installed it anyway? I could not find 4.76 for d/l on the RedHat website.

I suppose I can use "RPM -u" which i think is the command line update for RPMs.
Would this alleviate my dependency problems, or is it necessary to step up the
RPMs with all the intermediate versions?

Also, I like to use RHN (my one free System) to know what updates there are and
what I need to update. Is there anyway to update the listing of installed
packages from my RH system on RHN?

I know there are few questions above. Thank you for your help.
