With the K12LTSP distros I have always chosen KDE as the default during the
install and never had any troubles. However, (from an installation
yesterday) I found that you cannot choose text as the default login--which I
am wont to do--it needs to be graphical. When I chose text login I got the
big grey screen with no login on my clients...

Since I almost always use the CLUI on the server I'm wondering what the best
way would be to shut down Xwindows & the graphical login on the server?

On another note, can I put in a plug in for the site that makes this all
possible, http://www.ltsp.org/ ?

Also, IMO anyone using the K12LTSP distro would benefit greatly from
obtaining (and studying! :-) the documentation on LTSP provided at:
http://www.ltsp.org/documentation/index.php

There are also some very useful tips on the Installation Instructions page
at:
http://www.ltsp.org/instructions-3.0.html

I cannot overstate the value of reading the documentation provided at these
links, especially for those who are just starting out with LTSP. It will
give you an overview of what's going on when a client boots and explains
many of the options available to you in configuring your LTSP server.

My gratitude to Mr. McQuillan for all of the excellent work he's done and
the tools he's provided to make this all possible!

James Jensen
