Since mondo rescue doesn't do incremental or diffrential backups, I take a
snapshot of the full system (before/after upgrading packages) to CD-R.  For
daily backup I cron it to do a full-compression image of /home & /etc
overnight to the CD-RW.

If the box blows up, I can restore the last full backup and then use the
lastest /home /etc disc to restore the user files (and my hard-won
configuration files!), and I'm back in business.

Since this actually occured once, I know it works great! :-)
