I've been following this with some interest. I'm using Unison to run a
sort-of distributed file system - it works most of the time, but it
still needs regular attention. It may solve the problem of syncing home
directories, though, keeping an up-to-date copy on each replica.
I have limited bandwith - 384 kb/sec on one end (ISDN) and 128/512 ADSL
on the other end. Unfortunately in the technological hinterland where I
live, no one provides SDSL or higher uploads than 128 kb/sec. I get 384
kb/sec by bonding 6 64K ISDN channels together - not practical at the
other location.
So, I started looking through intermezzo. I played with coda a bit, but
even the authors admit it's not ready for prime time.
I found InterSync - a file sync program in real time that appears to do
exactly what I need. Is anyone using this? Any experience with it?
