and that is the problem with all DFS, one day they just don't know what
to do.. It comes back to policy - does the filesystem driver get
brutal, and simply overwrite the older file, or does it put more thought
into it (and what is its' line of logic), or does it ask the sysadmin or
the user..

As I understand it, coda has been around for many, many years. If it's
not ready for prime time yet, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I decided to dig into Intermezzo since, 1. it's open source and we can
distribute it, 2. there's lotsa coda developers writing it.

The file sync driver of Intermezzo is called intersync..
ie, this search returns all intermezzo stuff.. 8-/
http://www.google.com/search?q=intersync+download+distributed+filesystem

After mounting the filesystem as type 'intermezzo' then I # intersync
--server= /home

The main gotcha at the moment is, if the intersync daemon quits it will
take the (local) filesystem down. I haven't had a problem with this,
but it's worth getting it concrete, as a daemon failure will be, umm,
not good.

I am still having problems starting the intermezzo filesystem in
disconnected mode - this has to be fixed first.
