[K12OSN] /dev/dsp cant be opened

I have this error when booting into the KDE GUI.

When, from a client, I boot into the KDE I am unable to have sound. I
get the error stating that the soundserver will use the null output
device. This is ironic because, from the server, booting into KDE, I
have sound. The only way to get sound from the clients is to boot
into gnome.
