To use the VNC session in Linux, through a browser is pretty much the same
as in Windows. The Linux VNC server can also out-of-the-box work in a
browser window.
You just need to specify the proper port, and to make sure that you have
port-forwarding sent up properly if you're going through a firewall.
If you start a vncserver session with:
vncserver :1 on 192.168.1.100, then from another box's browser, you need to
call:
192.168.1.100:5801
A default windows session usually begins with display 0, so you need to call
it as:
192.168.1.200:5800
Using this form you can run MANY vnc sessions on one box, if you want. If
you are using KDE though, you'll get the famous DCOP errors if a kde session
is running on 0, and you also try to connect to it on 1. It is better just
to ssh into the box, start the vncserver session, then let'er rip.
