OpenOffice runs well on XP. Be sure to install with the \net (?is that 
correct) option.

You can also get StarOffice for educational institution for the cost of 
a CD.

I personally don't think Microsoft should be destroyed, I do think that 
the folks benefiting from k12ltsp should use OpenOffice.org if they can.
