just installed K12lktsp and got it working no problem with a few discless workstations. I have a file server which I want to keep /home on ans export to application servers. Can I use NIS to get the workstations to authenticate on the file server rather than the app server. I have seen from the documentation you can set NIS_DOMAIN and NIS_SERVER when running apps locally (which I don't want)but will this work without running local apps? If not then how can I keep manage multiple servers in terms of logging on? 
I'm from a school in London and we are looking at setting up one lab soon, about 20 stations, and if successful then adding another 60 stations around the building. If anybody has some good advice before i get really started it would be much appreciated.
