You can load the prefbar addon to mozilla from 
http://www.xulplanet.com/downloads/prefbar/help/index.html , to change 
the user agent from a gui.   This would also allow you to masqureade as 
other browsers.  This may help you get past the javascript browser 
detection, but as you already know from your experience with opera, It 
still might not work.
