Hi Jeff,

When I created student users their primary group was students.

HOME is owned by root user and root group with permissions set at rwx
rwx ---.

In my HOME folder I have various subfolders (actually mount points)
named ADMIN, TEACHER, STUDENT, NETADMIN.

The admin, netadmin, and teacher folders are owned by their respective
groups, permissions are something like rwx rwx ---

The student folder is owned by root user and teacher group, with
permissions set at something like rwx r-x --- . This prevents students
moving out of their home folders but still allows teachers to access
student work

That's the basic concept. Thee is probably a better way of doing that.

Cheers,
Bert
