If you're going to look at Zope, I reccomend checking out Plone
www.plone.org. It is based upon Zope and the CMF (Content Management
Framework, I believe). I've seen a few articles proclaiming it to be
the most promising open-source CMS. Over summer, if I get a chance to
setup an LTSP, I'd be interested in also integrating Plone for a CMS for
accessing files even when not on the network. Students could
upload/download homework and whatnot.

It just recently reached 1.0, and has a great deal of development and
improvement going on from an active community.

Another benefit is that there is a windows installer, so students could
go home and play around on their Windows machines.
