Thanks for the help.  It is the monitor that has gone bad.  I should have thought of that myself.  The fella that donated it said it worked, and gave me the setting, so I just took his word for it.  Although I guess it would be just as likely that things got messed after he gave it to me.

I don't know if I feel up to cracking the case, but I know one of our teachers fathers repair monitors.  Maybe a can call in a favor. ;=)
