I used to be a consultant, ironically, doing Windows NT-based networks.
You're right; consultants need to get paid for their work. However, in
my case, that is no longer as big a deal as it used to be, because I now
work for a school system. Therefore, for schools in the Washington, DC
area, I'd be quite willing to go ahead and help them implement K12LTSP,
after I get off of work, of course, and as time allows. My "fee" would
basically be a decent lunch/dinner, depending on the time of day.
Oh--if you're pretty far away from my house, I might ask you to fill up
my gas tank, but that's about it.

Call me, therefore, a consultant who is volunteering to help.
