The only change that I made to get sound working on our workstations was =
to
change the line (in your example) that reads

=20

SMODULE_01 =3D ymfpci

=20

To

=20

SMODULE_01 =3D cmpci

=20

To match the sound card in the workstation.=20

=20

Here is the snippet for sound in my lts.conf

=20

=20

=20

        # enable sound by default

        SOUND              =3D Y

=20

        # default sound volume

        VOLUME             =3D 75

=20

        # specify sound module

        SMODULE_01       =3D cmpci

=20

=20

This worked for me.
